Rezolv Health provides telehealth and in-person treatment for substance use disorders and mental health conditions across Washington State. We accept all insurance, including Medicare and TRICARE. Our physical location is in University Place, WA — in Pierce County, south of Tacoma — with telehealth available statewide. Most appointments are conducted by secure video visit, though occasionally an in-person visit may be required in the Tacoma area.

Washington is one of two states where Rezolv Health offers the full range of services: opioid use disorder, alcohol use disorder, Kratom addiction, mental health medication management, and dual diagnosis treatment.

Services in Washington State

Suboxone treatment for opioid use disorder

Buprenorphine (Suboxone) is the first-line evidence-based medication for opioid use disorder. According to the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), patients treated with buprenorphine experience significantly lower rates of overdose, illicit opioid use, and treatment dropout compared to behavioral treatment alone.

Rezolv Health Washington prescribes and manages buprenorphine via telehealth statewide. In-person appointments are also available at our University Place location for patients in Pierce County and the surrounding South Sound region.

Alcohol use disorder treatment

Naltrexone, Vivitrol (injectable naltrexone), and other FDA-approved medications for alcohol use disorder — prescribed and managed by a licensed physician. Medication management for alcohol use disorder is available both by telehealth and in-person in University Place.

Kratom addiction treatment

Daily Kratom use produces physical dependence that can be difficult to manage without medical support. Rezolv Health Washington offers physician-supervised Kratom addiction treatment, including clinical management of withdrawal symptoms and a structured reduction and cessation plan. This service is available by telehealth statewide.

Mental health medication management

Psychiatric medication management for depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and related mental health conditions — delivered by licensed providers. Available by telehealth across Washington State, with in-person appointments at University Place.

Dual diagnosis treatment

Many patients dealing with opioid or alcohol dependence are also managing an underlying mental health condition — depression, anxiety, PTSD, or ADHD. Treating these conditions in isolation produces worse outcomes than integrated care. Rezolv Health Washington manages both substance use and mental health within a single clinical relationship.

University Place location

Rezolv Health's University Place location is our sole physical location in Washington State. It is located in Pierce County, south of Tacoma, and is accessible from Tacoma, Lakewood, Puyallup, Gig Harbor, and surrounding South Sound communities.

In-person services at University Place include:

  • Addiction medicine — buprenorphine management, alcohol use disorder treatment
  • Psychiatric medication management by a licensed psychiatric nurse practitioner
  • Integrated dual diagnosis care

Patients in Seattle, Spokane, Bellingham, the Tri-Cities, Yakima, or elsewhere in Washington can be seen entirely by telehealth. The University Place location is not a requirement — it is an option for patients who prefer in-person care.

Washington's behavioral health access problem

Washington State faces one of the most acute behavioral health provider shortages in the western United States. The Washington State Department of Health has designated large portions of the state — particularly east of the Cascades — as Mental Health Professional Shortage Areas. Wait times for new psychiatric appointments in Washington routinely run eight to twelve weeks, and in some rural counties, no outpatient psychiatric providers are accepting new patients at all.

The same shortage affects addiction medicine. Outside of King County and a handful of urban centers, patients seeking buprenorphine treatment often face significant geographic barriers. A patient in Walla Walla, Moses Lake, or Okanogan County may have limited or no local access to a buprenorphine prescriber.

Telehealth directly addresses this. A patient anywhere in Washington — Pullman, Port Angeles, Wenatchee, or Kettle Falls — can access the same physician-led care as a patient in Seattle. No travel. No waitlist of months. A real appointment within days.

Frequently asked questions

What does Rezolv Health treat in Washington State? We treat opioid use disorder (buprenorphine/Suboxone), alcohol use disorder (naltrexone, Vivitrol, acamprosate), and mental health conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. Dual diagnosis treatment — co-occurring addiction and mental health — is also available. Washington is our most comprehensive state for services.

What insurance does Rezolv Health accept in Washington? All insurance, including Medicare and TRICARE. That covers commercial insurance — employer-sponsored plans and private marketplace (Healthplanfinder) plans, with common carriers including Premera, Regence, Aetna, United Healthcare, Cigna, and others — as well as Washington Apple Health (Medicaid) and self-pay.

Do you accept Apple Health (Medicaid) in Washington? Yes. Rezolv Health Washington accepts Washington Apple Health (Medicaid) for covered services. This applies to both addiction medicine and mental health medication management.

Do I need a referral to see Rezolv Health in Washington? It depends on your insurance plan. Some plans require a referral for behavioral health or specialist services — we recommend checking with your insurer before scheduling. Self-pay patients do not need a referral.

Is there a physical location in Washington, or is everything by telehealth? Both. Our University Place location in Pierce County is our sole in-person Washington location. It serves patients from Tacoma, Pierce County, and the South Sound who prefer face-to-face care. All services are also available statewide by telehealth — including for patients in Seattle, Spokane, and all other Washington communities.

Which cities in Washington does Rezolv Health serve? All of Washington. We serve patients throughout the state — Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue, Spokane, Everett, Olympia, Yakima, Bellingham, the Tri-Cities, and rural communities statewide. Telehealth is available to any Washington resident regardless of location.

How does telehealth work for addiction and mental health treatment? You complete a secure online intake form. We verify your insurance and schedule your first appointment. At that appointment — a secure video call — your physician reviews your history, answers your questions, and develops your treatment plan. If medication is appropriate, your prescription is sent electronically to any Washington pharmacy you choose. Follow-up visits are scheduled periodically.

Can I be treated for both addiction and mental health at the same time? Yes. Many of our Washington patients have co-occurring conditions — for example, opioid use disorder and depression, or alcohol use disorder and PTSD. We treat both under one clinical relationship without requiring separate providers or separate referrals.

What is Vivitrol and is it available in Washington? Vivitrol is injectable naltrexone — a once-monthly injection that reduces cravings for opioids or alcohol. Because it's an injection, it requires an in-person visit. Vivitrol is available at our University Place location. Patients elsewhere in Washington who need Vivitrol can come in person to University Place or coordinate the injection with a local provider.

What's the difference between Suboxone and methadone? Which does Rezolv Health use? Both are FDA-approved for opioid use disorder, but they work differently and have different access models. Methadone for opioid use disorder must be dispensed daily from a federally licensed opioid treatment program — meaning daily clinic visits, at least initially. Buprenorphine (Suboxone) can be prescribed by any qualified physician and taken at home. Rezolv Health prescribes buprenorphine. We do not dispense methadone.

I tried treatment before and it didn't work. Should I bother trying again? Yes. Prior treatment attempts — including relapses, failed programs, or previous medications — don't predict the outcome of your next attempt. They give your physician important clinical information. Many of our Washington patients have prior treatment history, and that history informs rather than disqualifies their care.

How soon can I get an appointment in Washington? Same-week appointments are typically available. For patients in crisis or recently discharged from a hospital or treatment facility, we prioritize scheduling. We don't have the multi-month waitlists that are common at many Washington psychiatric and addiction medicine providers.

What happens to my care if I move within Washington? Nothing changes. You continue with the same provider. Telehealth operates statewide and moving from Seattle to Spokane, or from Tacoma to Yakima, doesn't interrupt your care.

Is telehealth for addiction treatment covered by my commercial insurance in Washington? Many commercial insurance plans cover telehealth behavioral health services, though coverage, copays, and any prior authorization requirements vary by plan. We recommend verifying your telehealth benefits with your insurer before your first appointment.

What medications does Rezolv Health prescribe for mental health in Washington? We prescribe a range of FDA-approved medications for mental health conditions — antidepressants, mood stabilizers, ADHD medications, and medications for PTSD and anxiety disorders. We do not routinely prescribe benzodiazepines. The specific medication is determined by your physician based on your diagnosis and history.

What if I don't have insurance? Can I still be seen in Washington? Yes. Self-pay is available for patients without commercial insurance coverage. Contact us when you complete the intake form to discuss self-pay rates.
