Our University Place location

University Place is a community in Pierce County, immediately west of Tacoma and south of the Narrows Bridge. Our location here is the only physical clinic in the Rezolv Health Washington network — and it serves as the anchor for a full range of services that extend far beyond its walls via telehealth.

For patients who want or need to see a provider in person — whether for an initial evaluation, a medication administration, or simply a preference for face-to-face care — University Place is where Rezolv Health sees patients in Washington State.

What makes the University Place location different

Most telehealth addiction medicine practices have no physical location at all. The University Place clinic gives Rezolv Health a foundation for services that cannot be delivered remotely — including in-person psychiatric evaluation for complex presentations, certain medication administrations, and the expanded behavioral health services we are developing under our behavioral health agency license.

Coming to University Place: We are in the process of developing intensive outpatient and outpatient substance use disorder and mental health treatment programs under a Washington State behavioral health agency license. When operational, the University Place location will offer a continuum of care from medication management through structured outpatient programming — all under one clinical relationship.

Frequently asked questions

Where exactly is Rezolv Health's University Place location? University Place, Washington — in Pierce County, immediately west of Tacoma. Specific address and parking information is available through the patient portal after scheduling.

What is the difference between in-person and telehealth care at Rezolv Health? The clinical care is the same — same physician, same treatment approach, same medications. In-person visits allow for physical examination when needed, direct administration of injectable medications like Vivitrol, and a face-to-face interaction that some patients prefer. Telehealth is available for routine follow-up visits regardless of whether you initially came in person.

Is the University Place location the same as the previous practice in this location? Rezolv Health is the successor to an existing Pierce County practice. If you are a former patient, your care is continuing under the Rezolv Health name. If you have questions about your records or care continuity, call our Washington line directly.

Will Rezolv Health accept my insurance at the University Place location? Yes — we accept all insurance, including commercial plans, Washington Apple Health (Medicaid), Medicare, and TRICARE. Commercial coverage includes employer-sponsored and private marketplace plans.

What are the plans for the behavioral health agency license? We are pursuing a Washington State behavioral health agency license, which will allow us to operate structured IOP and outpatient treatment programs at the University Place location. This is in development and will be announced when operational.

Can I start with an in-person visit and switch to telehealth? Yes. Many patients prefer an in-person initial evaluation and then continue follow-up visits by telehealth. This is entirely supported and the most common pattern for patients who live further from University Place.

I live in Olympia or Thurston County — is it worth driving to University Place? That depends on your preference. The drive from Olympia is roughly 30 to 40 minutes. Some patients prefer to come in person for their initial visit and then switch to telehealth for periodic follow-ups. Others do everything by telehealth from day one. Either option is available to you.

Does Rezolv Health offer Vivitrol injections at University Place? Yes. Vivitrol (injectable naltrexone) requires in-person administration and is available at the University Place location. If Vivitrol is the right treatment approach for you, your provider will coordinate your injection appointments in person.

Can I be seen in University Place for mental health and addiction at the same visit? Yes. If you have co-occurring conditions — for example, both an opioid use disorder and depression — we can address both in the same clinical relationship. We don't require separate visits or separate referrals for mental health and addiction.

How is Rezolv Health different from a traditional addiction clinic? Traditional addiction clinics often involve daily or frequent visits, group programming, and a structured program model. Rezolv Health is a medication management practice — we prescribe and monitor medications (buprenorphine, naltrexone, psychiatric medications) with periodic follow-ups. It's a medical model, not a program model. That works well for patients who want clinical care without a mandatory group program structure.
