Southern New Mexico's treatment access challenge

Las Cruces is New Mexico's second-largest city and the urban center of Doña Ana County — a region that spans from the Texas border to the White Sands Missile Range and includes some of New Mexico's most rural and underserved communities. The border region context brings specific challenges: populations with complex insurance situations, agricultural and seasonal workers with irregular access to healthcare, and communities where the cultural and practical barriers to seeking addiction treatment are significant.

Doña Ana County has historically had limited behavioral health provider capacity relative to its population and the scale of substance use in the region. For many Las Cruces residents, accessing evidence-based addiction medicine has meant traveling to Albuquerque — a four-hour round trip that is not sustainable for monthly appointments.

Rezolv Health Las Cruces provides an alternative. Monthly telehealth appointments from home, a New Mexico Medicaid-accepting practice, and physician-led treatment without the travel barrier.

Border region context

Las Cruces sits in close proximity to El Paso, Texas, and to communities along the New Mexico-Texas border. Rezolv Health can see New Mexico residents — including those who live close to the Texas border and may have previously sought care in El Paso.

We cannot see patients who are residents of Texas, even if they frequently cross into New Mexico. If you are a New Mexico resident, you are eligible regardless of how close to the border you live.

Frequently asked questions

Does Rezolv Health accept Medicaid in Las Cruces? Yes. New Mexico Medicaid (Centennial Care) is accepted for opioid use disorder treatment, alcohol use disorder treatment, and Kratom addiction treatment.

Can I be seen by Rezolv Health if I live near El Paso but on the New Mexico side of the border? Yes, as long as you are a New Mexico resident. Patients in Sunland Park, Anthony, Chaparral, and other New Mexico border communities are eligible for telehealth services.

Do you treat Kratom addiction in Las Cruces? Yes. Rezolv Health New Mexico offers physician-supervised Kratom addiction treatment for Las Cruces and Southern New Mexico patients. We provide medical management of withdrawal and a structured cessation plan — entirely by telehealth.

How does telehealth work in areas with limited internet? Our telehealth platform works on most smartphones with a standard cellular data connection. High-speed broadband is not required. If internet access is very limited in your area, contact us before scheduling to discuss options.

Is there Spanish-language support at Rezolv Health Las Cruces? Services are currently provided in English. If you require Spanish-language services, contact us before scheduling to discuss accommodation options. We recognize the importance of this in the Las Cruces community and are working to expand language access.

What if I have tried Suboxone before and stopped? Prior buprenorphine treatment — whether you completed it, were tapered off, or discontinued — does not disqualify you. Your physician will review your history and consider what approach makes the most sense given your prior experience. Many patients do well on a subsequent course of treatment with adjustments based on what they have learned.

Is there a physical Rezolv Health location in Southern New Mexico? No. Las Cruces is served entirely by telehealth. Our nearest physical locations are in Reno, Nevada and University Place, Washington. All New Mexico care is delivered remotely.
